For 2009, the Toyota Corolla will be completely redesigned with a new body style, increased interior volume, more power, new engines and an all-new chassis and suspension. This will be the 10th generation Corolla since it was introduced in the United States in 1968. The Corolla will have five different models: the Standard, S, LE, XLE and XRS. The standard engine in the first four will be a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 132 horsepower and city/highway fuel estimates of 27/35 mpg. The XRS model will have a standard 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 158 horsepower and city/highway fuel estimates of 22/30 mpg.
