Gas prices in the city are well over $4 a gallon, topping $4.20 in many places for regular grade and $4.40 for the premium stuff.

Whether you're buying a new car, taking a road trip or trying to budget for the daily commute, you can see how much gas is going to cost you. For example, a road trip from Chicago to Indianapolis will cost $104.94 round trip in a Toyota Sequoia that averages 16 mpg on the highway. In a Chevrolet Aveo that averages 34 mpg on the highway, it will cost $49.38.
