Airhart Construction has opened a new rowhome model at Courthouse Square—on the grounds of the former DuPage County Courthouse campus that is being converted into a master-planned, mixed-use community that will include 50 Georgian-style luxury rowhomes near downtown Wheaton.
The new Blanchard plan has three bedrooms, 3.5 baths and 3,200 square feet and is decorated and furnished. The model has been sold, but the owner has agreed to delay move in for 18 months so it can be used as a model.
Like every rowhome unit at Courthouse Square, the Blanchard features four spacious levels, which are accessed by a private in-home elevator—a standard amenity. The lower level includes a two-car underground garage and home theater room. The main floor features a great room, dining room, breakfast nook, and kitchen. The second floor has a master bedroom suite with a sitting area and master bath, as well as a second bedroom. The upper level has a third bedroom, full bathroom, family room with in-law option kitchen, and access to a private roof terrace.
“The Blanchard, like any of our designs at Courthouse Square, can be extensively customized to cater to your distinctive tastes and lifestyle preferences,” said Heather Mistele, sales manager for Airhart. “So if you want to move walls, reconfigure living spaces, add a computer niche, expand a closet—you name it—we can accommodate those requests. Our layouts are extremely flexible.”
Phase I has completely sold out and there are only three homes remaining in Phase 88, she said. Those three are priced from $729,000 (all prices subject to change without notice).
“These three early delivery rowhomes are completely finished from the outside, but we left the interiors unbuilt so that buyers can personalize the rooms and living spaces to their liking,” said Mistele.
“Courthouse Square residents appreciate our classically detailed Georgian masonry exteriors,” said Mistele. “Every rowhome is constructed around elevated landscaped central courtyards that incorporate brick paving, and generous patio areas with completely enclosed parking. Whereas a traditional rowhome has a rear alley with unsightly asphalt and concrete, we’ve covered up that rear area with grass and soil to create a ‘green’ look. Essentially, you drive underneath this green deck to reach your private, heated underground parking garage, which is a nice feature.”
Other advantages to being a homeowner include access to the property’s desirable shared facilities, such as the community center building, which was formerly the campus’ States Attorney’s Office Building. Aside from housing professional office space, this facility provides community shared amenities such as a fitness center, outdoor pool and a fully furnished hospitality suite complete with a gourmet kitchen for parties and meetings. Courthouse Square’s homeowners are able to enjoy these amenities as soon as they move in.
“Everything you could want is within a quick walk or short drive of this community,” Mistele said. “You couldn’t ask for a more preferred downtown Wheaton location for these abundantly equipped rowhomes. Courthouse Square places you right in the center of the action. You can visit local coffee houses and the nearby Wheaton Public Library, take advantage of convenient commuter rail service, and frequent several acclaimed neighborhood restaurants. It’s all right here just waiting to be enjoyed.”
The model and sales center is l at 313 Liberty St., Wheaton, and open from noon. to 5 p.m. daily, Saturday through Tuesdays or by appointment. To reach the community, take I-88 west to I-355 north and exit at Roosevelt Road west; take Roosevelt Road to Naperville Road; turn right and take Naperville Road to Liberty Street; turn right and follow the signs to the new model.
