The first Early Bird Deadline is approaching for the “Doorway of Dreams Raffle,” a new fundraiser being sponsored by The Institute for Community, Inc, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation.
The raffle will benefit Naperville Responds, which is rebuilding homes in Pass Christian, and the Institute for Community, dedicated to building community values and resources in neighborhoods in Illinois and across the U.S.
The Institute is raffling a two-bedroom, two-bath Gold Model Condominium home at the Ponds of Naperville, worth $200,000 or $150,000 in cash.
The 1,100 square foot home features granite countertops in kitchen and bath, and a gourmet kitchen with maple cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, including self-cleaning oven, frost-free refrigerator and dishwasher. The kitchen also includes a microwave and an LG All-in-One Washer and Dryer. Air conditioning, plush carpeting, window treatments and ceiling fan complete the interior amenities. The condominium home also features a balcony with pond view, extra storage and parking space.
The Ponds of Naperville is centrally located on 75th Street and Modaff, minutes from shopping, dining and entertainment venues in downtown Naperville and the Fox Valley mall area and in close proximity to Benedictine University and North Central College as well as Metra, I-88, I-55 and I-355. The community offers a heated pool with sun deck, clubhouse with big screen TV, fitness center, cyber café, and sand volleyball court.
“This is a great opportunity to win a home and help build community, ”says Art Bettuzzi, raffle chairman and a general manager for one of the Marquette Companies, which is offering the condominium. “We feel strongly that this is a way to help advance the effort to rebuild Pass Christian, and make people aware of the Institute for Community’s unique approach to helping develop a strong sense of community within the suburban sprawl. That we can showcase our beautiful homes at The Ponds in Naperville while helping people live better both here and in Mississippi is very gratifying. ”
Naperville Responds has been rebuilding the community of Pass Christian, Miss., since it was devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Founded by a group of Naperville business and community leaders, the organization donates 100% of all fundraising proceeds to rebuilding homes and public buildings, as well as supporting the needs of the people of the community.
Working with citizens, community and religious leaders of Pass Christian, to date Naperville Responds has rebuilt 16 homes and has committed to at least four more. Several teams of volunteers from businesses and civic groups in Naperville have traveled to Pass Christian over the years to take part in the rebuilding effort.
The Institute for Community is dedicated to fostering quality relationships where people live and work, through the power of genuine community. The IFC works to solve problems of social isolation in neighborhoods, creating value for residents, municipalities, and community businesses.
The IFC pursues relationships with organizations that share the cause of restoring relationships and fulfillment to life in towns across America. Headquartered at HighPoint in Romeoville, the Institute provides consulting and teaching as well as service to the HighPoint community through The Friendship Centre.
The Friendship Centre model provides recreational programs as well as resources like youth after school programs, adult support programs, entrepreneurial business services and opportunities for spiritual development through area religious entities.
