A new model has opened for viewing at River's Edge, a condominium community of 80 contemporary residences in two five-story buildings on a wooded site in the southeast corner of Vernon Hills.

The new model is the 1,938-square-foot Birch floor plan, with two bedrooms and two baths. In all, there are four, two-bedroom/two-bath designs and one three-bedroom/2˝-bath plan still available at River’s Edge three with additional dens or formal dining rooms. The community, by Weiss Development, is 80 percent sold out.

River’s Edge is near the Half Day Forest Preserve and features its own 1.2-acre nature park with the Des Plaines River bike trail to its east.

Units range in size from 1,745 to 2,325 square feet with large, private balconies, while prices range from $349,500 to $518,900 (all prices and availability are subject to change without notice). Many of the condominium homes include two garage parking spaces, with storage. The Birch model, the only remaining plan of its type in Phase 1, is offered at $499,000 and features wood floors throughout, and a fireplace with a granite surround and mantle.

Two rail stations for the Metra North Central Service line – Vernon Hills and Prairie View – are within minutes of the community, with approximately an hour’s commute to the Loop.
